ARC Plant Biosecurity Training Centre Launch
The official launch of the ARC Training Centre in Plant Biosecurity coincided with the International Day of Plant Health on the 12 May.
This $10 million, five-year initiative, funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC), aims to train the next generation of biosecurity researchers and professionals, ensuring Australia remains a global leader in plant health.
Led by three universities and 27 partner organisations, ANU, JCU and CSU, the Centre will deliver advanced training, foster cross-sector collaboration, and drive research into early detection and rapid response for plant pests and diseases.
The centre aims to transform the Australian plant biosecurity sector by training the next leaders and innovators in the latest technological and societal approaches for protection of our multi-billion dollar natural and productive ecosystems.
