Early Bird Registration has opened for the Plant Biosecurity Research Initiative (PBRI) Symposium, a showcase of Research, Development, and Extension (RD&E) supported by the PBRI member organisations and partners. This year the Symposium will be held in sunny Cairns, at the world class Cairns Convention Centre.

An extensive range of presenters from Australia and New Zealand will provide their insights and latest research on protecting our plant production systems and surrounding environment from biosecurity threats.

This biannual Symposium continues to highlight the importance of collaborating across industries to achieve improved biosecurity, through better coordination of research investment. The PBRI extends this approach by working with MOU partners such as B3 NZ, Euphresco, @ACIAR, Plant Health Committee and Plant Health Australia, who will also feature in the program.

The PBRI members and partners have coordinated and co-invested in $64 million of cross-industry RD&E protecting Australia’s plant industries worth $43.8 billion.

Celebrating the International Day of Plant Health, the Symposium program will include industry keynotes, First Nation biosecurity engagement, plant industry panels, presentations from the biosecurity research community and more.

This year we will hold a Plant Health Student Network networking event (7 May), a poster session, gala dinner and much more!
Further details on registration, accommodation and poster abstract submission can be found here.
We look forward to seeing you in Cairns.
